Clitheroe documentary wedding photography at Holmes Mill - Leanne & Rick

Leanne and Rick’s gorgeous wedding was at the super cool Clitheroe wedding venue Holmes Mill. This was my first time photographing at Holmes Mill and I absolutely loved it! The wedding venue is a former textile mill and has an industrial vibe to suit non traditional couples. The style of the venue means you don’t need to go over the top with decor, it looks beautiful as it is.

Holmes Mill is part of the James’ Places Dream Venues collection, alongside, Eaves Hall, Mitton Hall and Shireburn Arms also in Clitheroe, Wennington Hall in Lancaster and the stunning Falcon Manor in North Yorkshire. Beneath the venue is a brewery and tap room, which is open to the public and a large beer garden outside so there will be lots of other people mingling around outside. I personally love when weddings overlap with the public, there’s always such a nice atmosphere when a newlywed couple are walking past and strangers cheer for them.

I started photography coverage with Leanne and her crew in the hotel attached to the venue, The Spinning Block. Whilst Karl was with Rick covering his goings on at a nearby Airbnb. If you have the chance to get ready within walking distance of your wedding venue then I would absolutely 100% do this. It’s so much easier when you can just nip over to the ceremony, without having to rely on transport, traffic and anything else than can make you late.

The day was so much fun, what a couple and what a crowd! Here are some of my favourites from Leanne & Rick’s Holmes Mill wedding.
