The value of wedding photography isn't so much for now, it's for the future - your future, for your family and friends and for people that may not even be around yet.
This is one of the many reasons I take the documentary approach. I want you to look back on your photos with nostalgia, remembering your day. Your photographs will increase in personal value to you with every year that passes, as you grow older and as things change. Staged, magazine cover, retouched images may look impressive now but won’t give you the same feels in the future and if your day isn’t documented properly you may forget all the lovely real moments.
I'm here to tell the story of your day…
I will take authentic documentary photographs throughout the day to give you the whole narrative to look back on. Your wedding day will be a whirlwind. Things will be going on that you won’t even notice yourselves. I’m here to capture these moments so you have them to look back on. The fun, the tears, the reality.
From the getting ready shots in the morning until party time I'll be there documenting your day in an honest way.
Your day is unique to you…
No two weddings are the same. Every single wedding that takes place is made up of an entirely different combination of people so I don’t use a shot list to create ‘standard’ wedding photos or rely on the venue having the perfect light. The people are more important to me. I will work with the surroundings, light and people to create your unique story in photographs. Every couple is different so I go into each wedding with a fully open mind ready to document what’s happening and tell your story. I don’t make you do things that aren’t you for the sake of a photo, or take you away from enjoying your day.
Feel uncomfortable posing?
Perfect! You won't have to. 99% of the day I'll be observing and photographing the events unfolding througout the day, no posing or staging required. The only set up shots as such will be your family group shots and we'll spend a short amount of time getting some of the two of you together - absolutely nothing to worry about or pose for.
The two of you...
At some point during the day we'll take a small amount of time to get some shots of the two of you together, we don't need long at all to get some good shots. It may just be you two having a walk, I may give you a few prompts but whatever we do I'll capture your love and interactions with eachother so your photographs are all about you and not stiff and posey. This is ideal for those couples who don’t feel comfortable posing or feel they aren't naturals in front of the camera. It's your wedding day afterall, not a photoshoot. Enjoy it!
How about group shots?
Most people like to have a few traditional group shots with certain family members, I recommend keeping these to a minimum (6 is a good number) for the most authentic documentary coverage and so we don’t have to take you away from your day for long. The longer your group shot list, the more time you'll spend away from your reception (and the fewer lovely candid shots I'll be able to get - as this time is usually great for documentary candids).
On the day...
I'll blend in with your guests as much as possible, I won't tell you what to do or how to act throughout the day. I'm not a photographer who stands as far away as possible with a zoom lens, I'm not afraid to come up close to get the best shots but couples often say they barely even knew I was there. The only time I'll need to take you away is for the family formals and couple portraits. It's your day to enjoy and I want it to unfold in exactly the same was as it would if I wasn't there.
After the wedding…
You must be excited to see some photos! I promise a ‘sneak peak’ of around 30 images within a few days of your wedding, then your full gallery will be ready on USB around 6-8 weeks later.
Once you’ve received your USB in the post I’ll upload your online gallery so you can start sharing with your friends and family. It’s up to you who you share your gallery link with, you can choose to keep it private if you’d prefer (you can even hide certain images if you’d rather keep some private). You can download images directly through the gallery, as well as having them on your USB, so you have easy access to photos anywhere. You can also purchase prints and design albums through the gallery, should you wish to.
As a documentary photographer, my goal is to tell a story through my images. I believe that the best moments are those that happen organically, without interference. I’m there to capture those fleeting moments of joy, laughter, and tears. By doing so, I am able to create a collection of photographs that truly reflects the spirit of the wedding and the personalities of the couple.

Having a smaller wedding with 50 guests or less?
If your wedding is smaller (fewer than 50 guests) and you’d like no more than 6 group shots then it’s likely I can handle it without the second photographer. You can still choose to have the above package but you also have the option to have me come on my own.

£1650 - strictly only for weddings with fewer than 50 guests - I truly believe I produce the best results with having a second shooter for most weddings

Two galleries - one colour, one black and white
I edit my galleries using a combination of colour and black and white edits. Typically you’d get roughly 85% of your gallery in colour and 15% black and white. This add on is for if you’d like the whole gallery in colour and also black and white (two galleries)
